ECH 420 Planning Environments for Young Children
This courses assists early childhood professionals in designing, programming and implementing an environment that supports the growth of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and primary school children, and their caregivers in early care and education. Focus on inclusive environments such as child care, nursery schools and pre-kindergartens, playgrounds, recreational spaces, and other community-based programs for young children. Multi-disciplinary approach drawing from the fields of Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Architecture. Prerequisite(s): Professional Standing in Education or permission of instructor.
Instructor: Elizabeth Squibb. Location: Educare Central Maine (56 Drummond Avenue in Waterville). Format: Blended (a combination of online and on-campus instruction). Dates/Times: Alternate Wednesdays (and one Saturday) from September 5, 2012 to December 12, 2012.- Live classes: on September 19, October 3, November 7 and 28, and December 12 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, October 13 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Online classes: September 12 and 26, October 10, 24 and 31, November 14, and December 5.
